AI Photo Cards at the CMLink App Launch

The Royal Horseguards Hotel, One Whitehall Place, London

China Mobile International launched the CMLink app in London, and the brief came with a
problem attached: a paper print gets folded into a pocket and thrown out with the
receipts. For a telecom launch, where the product itself is a SIM you keep in your wallet,
that felt like the wrong object to hand people.

So we printed onto plastic instead.

A card, not a photo

Guests stepped up to the mirror, had their portrait taken, and the AI generated a styled
image — not a filter over the original, but a new portrait built around the campaign's
visual language. London skyline, Tower Bridge, the blue of the brand, the CMLink and
JegoTrip marks already in the layout.

What came out was a credit-card-sized plastic card with their face on it. The same thing
they'd be carrying in their wallet after signing up for the service, which was exactly
the point.

Why it worked at a launch

We ran the AI photo mirror in the Reading and Writing Room at One Whitehall Place, with
the card printer alongside. Guests chose their style on screen, saw the result before it
printed, and collected the card within a minute. A QR code on screen sent the digital
version to their phone at the same time.

Want cards instead of prints?

We can run any of our photo activations with plastic card output — AI portraits, straight

photos, or sketch portraits drawn by a robot. Tell us what you're launching and what you'd

like guests carrying out.
