How We Created the First Bullet Time Photo Booth in Ukraine — And Brought It to the UK

In 2018, long before this technology became widely available in Eastern Europe, our team set out to create something truly different — a photo booth with the cinematic "Matrix" effect, known globally as Bullet Time. We were one of the first in Ukraine to bring this idea to life.

We didn’t buy a ready-made solution. We built everything from scratch: the rig, the synchronization system for 12 DSLR cameras, the software pipeline, the lighting setup. There were no tutorials, no guides — only our obsession with creating a photo zone that would make people stop, smile, and say “wow.”

We were inspired by online videos from major international events and began sketching, prototyping, and testing. Through trial and error, we found the perfect setup — a semi-circular camera arc, precisely calculated angles, and a system that could instantly deliver 3D Freeze videos to guests’ phones.

This is how Ukraine’s first interactive Bullet Time booth was born.

It instantly became a sensation. Event agencies, corporate clients, and even wedding planners wanted the "Matrix effect" at their events. Guests queued up to shoot their moments. And soon, brands asked: "Can you add our logo into the video?" — and so we evolved the setup into a branded marketing tool as well.
